Mullah Nasruddin and the Pot – Moral Story for Kids
Mullah Nasruddin needed a large pot for a party. He borrowed one from his greedy neighbor. A week later, he returned the pot. Inside it, he put a small, cute little pot. “What is this?” asked the neighbor. “Congratulations!” said Nasruddin. “While your pot was with me, it gave birth to a baby pot.” The greedy neighbor was delighted. He took both pots without asking questions. “Magic pots!” he thought.
A month later, Nasruddin asked to borrow the large pot again. The neighbor eagerly gave it to him, hoping for another baby. Weeks passed. Nasruddin didn’t return the pot. The neighbor went to Nasruddin’s house. “Where is my pot?” he asked.
Nasruddin looked very sad. He wiped a tear from his eye. “I have terrible news,” he sobbed. “Your pot… passed away.”
“Passed away?” shouted the neighbor. “Are you crazy? Pots don’t die!”
“My friend,” said Nasruddin calmly. “If you believed a pot could give birth, why can’t you believe a pot can die?”
The neighbor realized he had been tricked by his own greed and logic. He walked away in silence, never to see his pot again.
Moral of the Story: You cannot accept the benefit of an illogical lie without accepting the consequence. Logic works both ways.
